Accident took place in the early hours of Friday leaving driver with minor injuries

Abu Dhabi

A driver was injured after failing to stop his vehicle at a red light signal which led to a collision with another vehicle, the Abu Dhabi Police said on Friday.

The police received a report of the accident during the early hours of Friday at an intersection on Shaikh Zayed Road near the Abu Dhabi Municipality building, after which police patrols and ambulances were dispatched to the scene. The injured driver was taken to Khalifa Hospital with minor injuries.

Lt Col Salah Abdullah Al Humairi, Deputy Director of Abu Dhabi Traffic Department at Traffic and Patrols Department, urged drivers to abide by road safety rules, including stopping at red signals to ensure their safety.
