For nearly 80 years, the 92nd Street Y has hosted literary titans for talks and readings. This upcoming season is no different: events will feature Karl Ove Knausgaard, Natasha Trethewey, Gary Shteyngart, Jonathan Franzen and Kate Atkinson.

The season begins on Sept. 25 with Ms. Atkinson, who will discuss her new thriller, “Transcription,” about a British female spy under threat after World War II. On Sept. 28, Mr. Knausgaard will answer questions about the sixth and last installment of his autobiographical series “My Struggle,” which has received acclaim and scrutiny for its no-holds-barred honesty in depicting his relationships. In this installment, Mr. Knausgaard addresses the fallout from his blurring of public and private life and also writes about Hitler and “Mein Kampf,” whose title Mr. Knausgaard borrowed for his series.

Jonathan Franzen will read from his new essay collection, “The End of the End of the Earth,” on Nov. 15. (In a recent feature in The New York Times, Taffy Brodesser-Akner captured his state of mind during the writing of these essays; he said that his next novel will be his last.)

Mr. Shteyngart (Oct. 22), John Grisham (Oct. 23), and Lauren Groff and Jonathan Lethem (Dec. 6) will all stop by with new books. And Ms. Trethewey and Gregory Pardlo, who have both won Pulitzer Prizes for their poetry, will be featured in a joint event on Nov. 8.
