A busy road in north London has been cordoned off after a woman in her 20s was stabbed in broad daylight.

Cordons have been set up by the Metropolitan Police following the incident on the Caledonian Road in Islington.

It happened at around 10.20am on Saturday.

Scotland Yard said: "A woman, aged in her 20s, has been taken to hospital. We await assessment of her condition."

The perpetrator or perpetrators are currently at large.
